This acquisition marked a major milestone for Geely, as it was the first time a Chinese company had acquired a major international automotive brand. Geely has since invested heavily in Volvo, and the brand has seen a resurgence in popularity.

In 2010, Geely released its first electric vehicle, the Geely Emgrand EV. This was followed by the Geely Emgrand EC7-EV in 2012, and the Geely Emgrand GS in 2014. Geely has since released several other electric vehicles, including the Geely Emgrand PHEV in 2016 and the Geely Emgrand X in 2018.

Geely has also been investing heavily in autonomous driving technology. In 2017, the company acquired the autonomous driving company, Terrafugia, and in 2018, it acquired the autonomous driving company, Boston Dynamics. Geely has also been investing in ride-hailing companies, such as DiDi Chuxing and Grab.

Today, Geely is one of the largest automotive companies in the world. It has a presence in over 100 countries and regions, and its products are sold in over 50 countries.
