Eusebio Kino was a Jesuit missionary and explorer who is credited with being the first European to explore the area that is now known as Arizona and northern Mexico. He was born in Segno, Italy in 1645 and was educated by the Jesuits in Trento. He was ordained as a priest in 1677 and was sent to the New World in 1681.
