Vasily Chichagov

Vasily Chichagov was a Russian admiral and explorer who was born in 1726 in the city of St. Petersburg. He was the son of a naval officer and was educated at the Naval Academy in St. Petersburg. He joined the Russian Navy in 1741 and served in the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea.
